Knee Osteoarthritis

The Essential Knee

What is the major shock absorbing mechanism of the joint?

Does running cause osteoarthritis?

Is exercise good or bad for knee pain when a person has severe asymmetry?

Learn the answers to these questions through discussion with Dana Logan and Dr. Carole Lewis and by watching these seasoned therapists work with patients. The Essential Knee provides a synopsis of current research, examines myths and facts about knee osteoarthritis, and prepares you to use evaluation and treatment techniques that are evidence based. The most important impairments are examined and standardized functional tools are demonstrated in a clinical setting.

What participants are saying . . .

“There was so much good information provided from the research, something I have been very interested in, and you brought it all together in this course. I also appreciated the discussion about the research, the videos of the case studies, with the eval and HEP. It was all very well done and I learned a lot that I will be using in the clinic.”

“For years I have been telling my patients that PT makes a difference in patients with knee OA, now I have evidence to support my love of this field.”

“I enjoyed the observation of evaluation/treatment with 2 different patients. I also liked the question/answer session.”

“I loved seeing Dana working with real patients so I can model her great skills. The selection of eval and tx methods based on evidence is so useful. Thank you Carole and Dana!!”
